Company History

The Beginning

In 2004, Julio Catano, Masterpiece Painting Contractors’ founder, started a small company that specialized in painting residential properties in Palm beach County (interior and exterior walls, garage floors, popcorn removal, knockdown texture, crown molding and drywall). Julio quickly recognized that mostly of the available painting companies were giving an inadequate service to the people that where looking for a good painting job. Since then years of research about customer needs and development of a system helped him out to achieve a “Masterpiece” in every painting job.

MASTERPIECE PAINTING CONTRACTORS is Born

In 2007, these revolutionary painting system and application processes formed the foundation of Julio’s new company, Masterpiece Painting Contractors, and allowed it to expand beyond residential into commercial realms, by 2009 Masterpiece Painting further expanded by opening its services in Martin County, Florida. And by 2013, it had expanded its services into more than a thousand homeowners and business owners across Palm Beach and Martin Counties, all of which exclusively use Masterpiece Painting Contractors System. Now it reigns as an industry leader in interior and exterior painting across south Florida.

As part of its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, Masterpiece Painting implemented a “quality management system”. All processes involved in the estimation, preparation and installation of Masterpiece painting systems and customer communication are standardized in the form of written “Standard Operating Procedures”. It is a basic “quality management system” requirement that all corporate Masterpiece Painting employees, including office staff and field crews, are trained on these “Standard Operating Procedures”.

Our professionally staffed call center is available to take your call from Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. EST.

We answer any basic question about your project, or we can put you through to one of our team members in the field who can. We can take and deliver messages. If you would like an estimate or a color consultation, we can schedule that appointment when you call. If you ever have any inconvenient with your paint job, we are there to listen and get you help as soon as possible.

We have a professionally staffed live chat center

We offer several support options including real time live chat support if your matter is urgent. Our support team members will give you instant answers to provide you an efficient customer service.

We call back after your painting project is done

We like to maintain our reputation with as much certainty as possible. Our “Quality Callback Program” works to make sure we have every job surveyed by our Quality Assurance Team. Your project Coordinator will contact you approximately one hour before your whole painting project is completed to ensure it was delivered to your satisfaction with regard to both the final results and your overall experience with us. If they call and you are not home, they will leave you a special number to call so you can provide us with your feedback at a time convenient to you.

Your project is managed by a professional

A Job Site Supervisor will be assigned to oversee your entire project from start to finish. Masterpiece Painting will be on-site on your project full time and will work with you daily. They will be doing everything systematically to make sure your project progresses smoothly. Their role is to communicate with you throughout the job, answer your questions, and address your concerns.

We work from detailed written proposals

Our team member who prepared your Proposal is a trained Estimator. We have taken the necessary time to understand your needs and the requirements of your project and we have provided the details to you in a Proposal and a Customer Care Form. Your Proposal and your Customer Care Form are living documents that will be used by the painting crew to ensure your painting project is completed to your satisfaction.

How long my painting project is going to take?
  • It depends on the size of the project, the weather and the Coating being installed, on average 1-4 days.
  • For Garage Floor and Deck Coatings, after the average installation you can walk on your floor 24 hours after and drive 72 hours after installation.

Why shouldn’t I use the DIY or home improvement store painting products?

From personal and professional experience and seeing many others do it yourself painting jobs, there is really no comparison. These coatings due to poor preparation of surface and low quality craftsmanship are not built to last. They also typically do not have a standardized system with them that prevents coatings from alligatoring, bubbling, blistering, chalkiness, peeling off and hot tire pickup. Your end result with these? Unsatisfied and continuously re-applying more coating to fix the defects.


Is Masterpiece Painting Contractors a Certified and Insured Contractor in my city?

Yes, we are certified and insured in Palm Beach and Martin Counties. You can be rest assured that when you hire Masterpiece Painting Contractors you are getting nothing but the best. We attend yearly training to maintain the most up to date knowledge on coating application procedures. Also all our team members are fully covered by workman’s comp insurance and all our vehicles, your property, your cars and you are insured while we are working your painting project.


Are there different types of products?

Yes, the sky is the limit with us. From the basic stain and seal job all the way to your favorite sports team colors, it really depends on what kind of look you would like and what your space is used for.

Do you provide paint products and materials?

Yes we do it! Our experience as painting contractors brings a wealth of knowledge to a project that can make the painting process go smoothly and efficiently, resulting in lower costs and higher quality work. Based on years of experience, we know what materials and building details will stand the test of time, and which are prone to failure.


Do you do prep work?

Yes. We do the prep work as best as possible. The 80% of a professional paint job is in the preparation. We have learned the skills for prepping properly all the surfaces before painting to give to our paint projects a long lasting professional look for the years to come. We know that spending a few extra minutes on prep work will give you much better results and help you avoid problems along the way.

When we estimate your painting project we will provide you all the information regarding the scope of the job and will make sure that every step on the preparation process meets our standardized system.

How long does the paint job last?

We use our exclusive products from Sherwin Williams and some special Polymeric products that not one else except a certified contractor can buy and apply. They have been tested for in the real world since 1866. They offer some of the best warranties on the market. If you are looking for a painting job that will last year after year, Masterpiece Painting Contractors will deliver.


What if I have items in my house that I can’t move by myself?

We hope when we arrive we can get right to work, our team is more than happy to accommodate assisting the homeowner with moving items to the middle of the rooms and out of their garage or decks. If needing help moving the items back into the garage, patio or pool deck after the coating has dried we’ll send one of our teams out to help move them.


Will the grinding and sanding create a lot of dust in my house?

We take every precaution during installation to not contaminate your house or neighborhood. Our diamond grinders have a dustless water system attached to it that prevents the dust from contaminating the area. All your furniture, Light fixtures, ceiling fans, smoke detectors, air vents, walls, windows, floors and doorways seams are sealed with tape and plastic to prevent any dust from entering your home. Some dust will be omitted when we use the hand grinder and sanders but it will be cleaned up prior to departure.


Do we have to be home when you do the install?

No, you do not have to be home. We can make arrangements for access prior to the installation.


What is your warranty?

We know you want to enjoy the results of your painting project for many years to come! That is why we offer competitive and comprehensive warranties for your peace of mind. After our customers receive their paint project, they can be assured that we provide a two year warranty for interior projects and a five year warranty for exterior projects. Masterpiece Painting Contractors headquarters is implementing its “quality management system”.
